Maxine, Lawyer

Maxine received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of California, Davis in 2023. She was an editor for the Davis Journal of Legal Studies, interned at the California Senate Office of Research, and worked at a nursing home during her undergraduate studies.

In May 2026, Maxine graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She gained experience in drafting various types of contracts at Sacramento State University’s Sponsored Programs Administration. During her time at the McGeorge Elder & Health Law Clinic, Maxine drafted simple estate plans and elder financial abuse complaints, engaged in community outreach with the elder population of Sacramento County, and conducted research on conservatorships across the state in contribution to a study spearheaded by the California Elder Justice Coalition. At the McGeorge Prisoner Civil Rights Mediation Clinic, Maxine co-mediated prisoner civil rights matters alongside a federal judge. Maxine also volunteered at the Refugee Enrichment & Development Association and the Sacramento Superior Court on guardianship matters. In addition, Maxine was a board member of the McGeorge Womxn of Color Collective, a student organization dedicated to creating spaces where womxn and non-binary people of color can connect, lead, and thrive in the legal profession.

Maxine sat for the July 2026 California Bar Exam and is currently training as a post-bar law clerk under Mr. Belden in estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters at Bakerink, McCusker, & Belden. In her free time, Maxine enjoys reading fantasy novels, traveling, playing tennis, and going to concerts.
